GB/T 41221-2021 is the English-translated version of 中药材种子检验规程.

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1. Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.
1 Scope
This document establishes the procedures for the inspection of Chinese herbal medicine seeds, and specifies the inspection sticks, authenticity identification, clarity analysis, and germination test of Chinese herbal medicine seeds.
The procedures of test, moisture test, weight test, viability test and health degree test are described, and the verification methods such as process record are described.
This document applies to Chinese herbal medicine seed producers, managers and users in the production, processing, transportation, sowing, storage and trade of seeds.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Seed lot
Seed population within the specified quantity harvested from the same source, the same year, the same origin, and the same harvesting period.
3.2 Primary sample
A small sample of seeds drawn from a seed lot.
3.3 Composite sample
A combined sample of all primary samples drawn from a seed lot.
3.4 Submitted sample
The specified number of samples sent to the seed inspection agency for inspection.
3.5 Working sample
Samples taken from the samples submitted for inspection and used for a certain inspection item.
3.6 Pure seed
Seed units or structures conforming to the seeds of the species submitted for testing, including all botanical varieties and cultivars of that species.
