Scope

GB/T 36844-2018 is the English-translated version of 十字花科细菌性黑斑病菌检疫鉴定方法.

GB/T 36844-2018 sets out how to detect and identify Pseudomonas syringae pv. maculicola (McCulloch) Young et al., the bacterium that causes bacterial black spot of cruciferous crops.

It applies to plant material such as cruciferous vegetables and their seeds. Identification combines the disease symptoms, the biological, physiological and biochemical characteristics of the bacterium, molecular biology techniques and pathogenicity testing.

The standard lists the instruments, from biological microscope and incubators to conventional and real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR equipment, and the reagents and culture media, and draws on GB/T 3543.2 for seed testing, GB/T 6682 for laboratory water and SN/T 2122 for quarantine sampling. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.
