Foreword

This document has been drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.

This document partially replaces the mandatory content of GB 20055-2006 Safety requirements for open mills, GB 25431.1-2010 Rubber and plastics extruders and extrusion lines - Part 1: Safety requirements for extruders, GB 25431.2-2010 Rubber and plastics extruders and extrusion lines - Part 2: Safety requirements for die face pelletizers, GB 25431.3-2010 Rubber and plastics extruders and extrusion lines - Part 3: Safety requirements for haul-offs, GB 25432-2010 Safety requirements for platen vulcanizing presses, GB 25434-2010 Safety requirements for rubber and plastics calenders and GB 30747-2014 Safety requirements for tyre shaping and curing presses. Compared with the documents it replaces, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) the mandatory safety requirements for rubber and plastics machinery have been brought together in a unified form (see Clause 4);

b) general principles for the safety requirements have been added (see 4.1);

c) ergonomic requirements have been added (see 4.2);

d) requirements for operating positions have been added (see 4.3);

e) the specific safety requirements for the corresponding machines have been distilled (see Clauses 5 to 17);

f) the information for use of rubber and plastics machinery has been brought together in a unified form (see Clause 18);

g) type I protection, type II protection, type III protection, acknowledgement systems and the noise test code for rubber and plastics machinery have been brought together in a unified form (see Annexes B to F).
