1 Scope

GB/T 25936.4-2024 is Part 4 of the Chinese safety series for rubber and plastics size reduction machinery, and covers agglomerators - the machines that densify film, fibre and foam scrap by frictional heating until it balls up, then shock it with water. The hazard set is broader than a cutting machine's, because the material inside is hot enough to burn and can ignite, the process releases dust and fumes, and the operator works at a charging opening above a fast rotor. The standard sets the safety requirements and protective or risk reduction measures for the general case, the mechanical hazards, the thermal hazards, the noise hazards, the hazards from dust, fumes and gases, the electrical hazards, the emergency stop, stop and start functions, unexpected start-up, and falls from height, then the verification of those measures and the information for use, covering the instruction handbook, the marking and the warning signs. It takes effect on 1 July 2025.

4.Safety requirements for pelletizers. This document replaces GB 25936.4-2010 "Rubber and plastics crushing machinery Part

4.Safety requirements for pelletizers" and is consistent with GB 25936.4- Compared with.2010, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial modifications, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The scope of this document has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2010 edition);

b) Three terms and definitions such as "agglomerator" have been changed (see

3.1 to 3.3, 3.1, 3.3,

3.6 of the.2010 edition);

c) The terms and definitions of "feeding and discharge openings on the pelletizing chamber", "fixed feeding device" and "feeding system" have been deleted (see.2010 versions 3.2, 3, 4 and 3.5);

d) Added the requirements for the performance level PLr of the safety-related components of the control system (see 4.2.1.1, 4.2.1.3, 4.2.1.6, 4.2.1.7, 4.2.2, 4.2.3.1, 4.7.1, 4.7.2, 4.8);

e) Added requirements for openings exceeding 500 mm × 400 mm (see 4.2.1.4);
