Scope

GB/T 40405-2021 is the English-translated version of 建筑用纱门窗技术条件.

GB/T 40405-2021 is the Chinese national technical specification for screen windows and screen doors used in buildings. It covers their classification, specifications and marking, the materials, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage.

The materials it refers to include aluminium alloy and PVC-U profiles, torsion springs, stainless steel screws, sealing strips, hardware and glass fibre insect screen.

Tests draw on methods for wind resistance, repeated opening and closing, mechanical properties, salt spray corrosion, light exposure and the colour fastness, strength and formaldehyde content of textiles.

Normative annexes give the requirements and test methods for synthetic fibre mesh and for stainless steel mesh. It was issued on 20 August 2021 and has applied since 1 March 2022.
