Scope

GB/T 5237.3-2017 is the English-translated version of 铝合金建筑型材 第3部分:电泳涂漆型材.

GB/T 5237.3-2017 covers the aluminium alloy extruded profiles used in building facades, windows and curtain walls that carry a combined coating of anodic oxide, dye and electrodeposition paint — water-soluble or coloured. It fixes the requirements, the test methods, the conformity rules, the marking, packaging, transport and storage, the quality certificate and the content of the order or contract. Paint films are classified by gloss (gloss or matt) and by colour (clear or coloured), and the combined coating is graded by thickness class and by performance level, each level tied to a recommended application environment and to the grade of electrodeposition paint permitted. The coating shall be even and clean, free of wrinkling, cracking, blistering, running, inclusion and detachment, and only the last 80 mm of the profile end may be left uncoated. The test programme runs from coating thickness and paint film hardness through boiling water resistance (5 h at not less than 95 °C), hydrochloric acid and 5 g/L alkali resistance, mortar, detergent and solvent resistance, salt spray and cyclic corrosion/UV, to accelerated weathering, where the colour change shall be ΔE*ab ≤ 3.0. Routine inspection is carried out at least once every three years. Third revision, replacing GB/T 5237.3-2008, in force since 1 July 2018.
