GB/T 37256-2018 is the English-translated version of 建筑室外用格栅通用技术要求.
GB/T 37256-2018 is the Chinese national standard that sets the general technical requirements for bar screens, or grilles, fitted on the outside of buildings.
It covers the terms and definitions, the classification and marking of the grilles, the materials, including steel, aluminium alloy profiles and sheets, stainless steel, timber, plywood, ceramic panels and glass, the general requirements, the performance requirements and the test methods.
An informative annex lists the materials commonly used for outdoor building grilles and a normative annex gives the test method for the bearing capacity of the grille members.
It applies to fixed grilles that form part of the building envelope and is meant for the makers and installers of such grilles. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 November 2019.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and marking, materials, general requirements, requirements and test methods for grilles for outdoor use.
This standard applies to fixed grilles in the building envelope.
