GB/T 28886-2023 is the English-translated version of 建筑用塑料门窗.

GB/T 28886-2023 is the product standard for PVC and other plastic windows and doors in buildings. They dominate residential construction because they insulate well and need no painting, and they fail in ways that are peculiar to the material: the profile is a hollow extrusion whose stiffness depends on internal steel reinforcement that cannot be seen once installed, the material moves substantially with temperature so corner welds carry real stress, and it degrades under ultraviolet light unless the compound is formulated for it. None of that is visible to a buyer comparing two windows that look identical, and the difference appears five years later as sagging sashes, failed welds and yellowed frames. This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1:1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting: This document replaces GB/T 28886-2012 "Plastic doors for construction" and GB/T 28887-2012 "Plastic windows for construction", and is consistent with Compared with GB/T 28886-2012 and GB/T 28887-2012, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
