Scope
GB/T 17889.2-2021 is the English-translated version of 梯子 第2部分:要求、试验和标志.
GB/T 17889.2-2021 is the second part of the Chinese standard on ladders, and it sets the requirements, the tests and the marking.
It gives the general design features and the requirements a portable or mobile ladder has to meet - the strength and stiffness of the stiles, rungs and steps, the stability, the feet, the locking of the hinges and the resistance of the materials - the test methods that verify them and the marking and instructions supplied with the ladder.
It applies to portable and mobile ladders and not to fixed, fire or insulated ladders, and it is used together with Part 1. It replaces GB/T 17889.2-2012, was issued on 31 December 2021 and has applied since 1 July 2022.
