This document specifies requirements for the provision and use of ladder information, marking and instruction manuals, maintenance and storage. This document applies to ladders covered by GB/T 17889.1.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 15706, GB/T 17889.1 and GB/T 17889.2-2021 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 User Personnel using ladders.

4.Provision and Use of Usage Information The manufacturer shall be responsible for providing information on the use of the ladder, including at least the Chinese version of the logo and instruction manual. Users should read the instruction manual carefully before using the ladder and use the ladder in accordance with the ladder's markings and instruction manual.

5 Marking and instruction manual

5.1 General requirements Ladder markings should be securely fastened to a clearly visible surface of the ladder. The instruction manual shall list the items that need to be checked/inspected regularly. The items to be checked/inspected shall at least meet the requirements of Appendix B. The criteria for determining the inspection/test items should be given in the instruction manual or on the ladder. Instructions for use should be provided with the ladder. All safety signs on the ladder should be given in the instruction manual and detailed descriptions should be given when necessary. The number of safety signs on ladders should be limited so that users can clearly identify and comply with them.
