This document is Part 6 of GB/T 17889 "Ladders". GB/T 17889 has published the following parts.
— Part 1: Terminology, type and functional dimensions;
— Part 2: Requirements, tests and marking;
— Part 3: Information for use;
— Part 4: Hinged ladders;
— Part 5: Telescopic ladders;
— Part 6: Movable platform ladders.
This document replaces GB/T 17889.6-2019 "Ladders Part 6: Movable platform ladders". This document is consistent with GB/T 17889.6- Compared with 2019, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial modifications, the main technical changes are as follows.
— Changed the schematic diagram of the movable platform ladder (see Figure 1, Figure 1 of the 2019 edition);
— Changed the general requirements (see 4.1, 4.1 of the 2019 edition);
— Changed the requirements for castors (see 4.6, 5.6 of the 2012 edition);
— Changed the size requirements for skirting boards (see 5.3, 5.4 of the 2012 edition);
— Changed the requirements for platform doors (see 5.6, 5.8 of the 2012 edition);
— Added platform door test (see 6.5.3).

Introduction
Ladder is a commonly used safety facility for climbing. GB/T 17889 aims to improve the quality and safety level of ladder-related products and ensure User safety is planned to consist of 7 parts.
— Part 1: Terminology, types and functional dimensions. The purpose is to coordinate the standards related to ladders and give the commonly used terms, types and functional dimensions of ladders.

1 Scope
This document specifies the general requirements, dimensional requirements, testing, marking and operating instructions for portable platform ladders.
This document applies to working platforms with a maximum height of no more than 5m, a maximum area of no more than 1m2, and a maximum load of no more than 150kg (including The weight of the user, and the total weight of the tools, equipment and materials carried), and the movable platform ladder is limited to one person at a time.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 17889.1-2021 and the following apply to this document.
3.1 guardrail
A graspable component installed on a movable platform ladder platform to prevent falling. Note. See Figure 1, 1.
3.2 Middlerail
Guardrail member located between the platform and the guardrail top member. Note. See 2 in Figure 1.
3.3 Platform door gate to platform
A rigid member that can be grasped and has at least one horizontal member to prevent falling when entering the platform from the climbing leg side. Note. See Figure 1, 3.
3.4 toeboard
Side protection components fixed to the platform or guardrail. Note. See 4 in Figure 1.
3.5 Side handrail
A member parallel to the climbing leg, used for gripping to increase body balance when going up and down stairs. Note. See 5 in Figure 1.
3.6 Caster wheel
A device that facilitates the movement of a movable platform ladder. Note. See 6 in Figure 1.
