Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document is Part 2 of GB/T 1147 "Internal Combustion Engines of Medium and Small Power". GB/T 1147 has already published the following parts.

2.Experimental Methods. This document replaces GB/T 1147.2-2017 "Small and Medium Power Internal Combustion Engines - Part

2.Test Methods", and is consistent with GB/T 1147.2-2017. In comparison, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Added terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);

b) The exhaust back pressure requirements for the test apparatus have been changed (see 4.2,

3.2 in the.2017 edition);

c) The pre-test break-in requirements have been changed (see 4.3,

3.3 in the.2017 version);

d) Fuel and oil requirements have been changed (see 4.5;

3.5 in the.2017 edition);

e) The testing site requirement has been removed (see

3.6 in the.2017 version);

1 Scope

GB/T 1147.2-2025 is the Chinese national standard on small and medium power internal combustion engines - part 2:test methods, in the field of energy and heat transfer engineering. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 31 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 May 2026. Classification: ICS 27.020, CCS J 91. This document describes the test methods for small and medium power internal combustion engines (rated power not exceeding 560kW). This document applies to small and medium power vehicles, ships, agricultural tractors and forestry machinery, construction machinery, generator sets, and irrigation and drainage machinery. For internal combustion engines (hereinafter referred to as "internal combustion engines"), other small and medium power internal combustion engines for which there are currently no applicable standards shall refer to this standard.
