1 Scope

This document specifies the rating of vibration quality for general-purpose gasoline engines and describes the vibration testing methods.

This document applies to vibration testing of general-purpose gasoline engines and other spark-ignition engines with power outputs of 30kW and below.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 2298 and GB/T 7184-2023, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.

3.1 Vibration intensity

Values such as maximum, average, root mean square, or other values describing vibration parameters, involving multiple transient values or multiple averages.

Square value.

Note. Vibration intensity is a general term that was often used in the past when referring to vibration velocity, and is now also used for displacement and acceleration, etc.

A comprehensive characteristic parameter describing the vibration state of a general-purpose gasoline engine.

3.3 Frequency response function (FRF)

Frequency response function

The ratio of the Fourier transform of the motion response of a frequency-dependent linear system to the Fourier transform of the excitation force.

4 Vibration rating

4.1 Vibration Level

The vibration quality of general-purpose gasoline engines (hereinafter referred to as "engines") is divided into four levels. A, B, C, and D, according to the magnitude of the equivalent vibration intensity Vs value.
