Scope
GB 5135.11-2006 is the English-translated version of 自动喷水灭火系统 第11部分:沟槽式管接件.
GB 5135.11-2006, Part 11 of the GB 5135 series on automatic sprinkler systems, specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage of grooved couplings and fittings, and applies to grooved couplings and fittings in automatic sprinkler systems.
It defines rigid and flexible grooved couplings, grooved fittings such as mechanical tees and crosses, elbows, reducers and flanges, and pressure responsive gaskets, and sets out a model designation of the form XG followed by material, name, pipe outside diameter, side-outlet connection and rated working pressure.
The requirements cover appearance and marking, groove dimensions to Annex A and branch pipe diameters to Annex B, rated working pressures of at least 1.2 MPa in the series 1.2, 1.6 and 2.5 MPa, nominal diameters from 25 mm to 300 mm, housings of ductile iron not lower than QT450-12 or forged steel, class 8.8 bolts and class 8 nuts, and physical properties for natural rubber, EPDM, nitrile and silicone gaskets.
Performance requirements include vacuum tightness at 0.08 MPa, air tightness at 0.3 MPa, sealing at 2 times and pressure strength at 4 times the rated working pressure, bending moments from 410 N·m (DN 25) to 31 120 N·m (DN 300), flexible coupling deflection, maximum end gaps, low temperature and high temperature ageing resistance, leakage without gasket not above 113 L/min at 0.2 MPa, 20 000 water hammer cycles and vibration resistance, followed by the test methods and inspection rules.
Clauses 6 and 8 are mandatory. It is issued for the first time, with reference to ISO/DIS 6182-12, UL 213 and FM 1920, and was issued on 7 April 2006, in force since 1 December 2006.
