Scope

GB/T 31940-2025 is the English-translated version of 输送流体用双金属复合钢管.

GB/T 31940-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering a carbon steel pipe lined or clad with a corrosion resistant alloy — the base and liner materials, the shear bond strength and the residual compressive stress that hold the liner against the wall, the hydraulic and negative pressure tests, the non-destructive testing, the hygienic requirements for potable service, and the hot and cold cycling that a bimetal pipe has to survive because its two metals expand at different rates. It replaces GB/T 31940-2015, under the China Iron and Steel Association. In force from 1 February 2026. Issued on 1 August 2025, it has been in force since 1 February 2026, replacing GB/T 31940-2015.
