1 Scope

This part of GB 27898 specifies the classification and model designation, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the nameplate and instructions for use of fire-fighting pressure boosting and pressure stabilizing water supply equipment.

It applies to the design, manufacture and repair of fixed fire-fighting pressure boosting and pressure stabilizing water supply equipment driven by low voltage motors.

Classification and requirements

Clause 4 sets the classification of the equipment and the method of forming the model designation. Clause 5 carries the requirements: first the performance the set as a whole must reach, then the requirements on each component in turn - the pump to GB 6245, the pressure vessel to the GB/T 150 series, the valves, water flow indicator, pressure switch and grooved fittings to the corresponding parts of GB 5135, the control cabinet with its enclosure protection to GB/T 4208 and its dimensions to GB/T 3047.1, the pressure gauges to GB/T 1226 and GB/T 1227, and the elastomeric parts to GB/T 528.

The drive and control device follows the fire service rule for the drive and control devices of fixed extinguishing systems, and the whole set is designed to work alongside the pneumatic type equipment of GB 27898.1 in the same series.

Testing, inspection and marking

Clause 6 gives the test methods corresponding to the requirements, clause 7 the inspection rules with the classification of inspection, the type inspection and the factory inspection and their acceptance criteria, and clause 8 the content of the nameplate and of the instructions for use, the latter following GB/T 9969.
