1 Scope

GB 12557-2024 is the Chinese national standard on woodworking machines - safety technical specification, in the field of wood technology. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 29 September 2024 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 October 2025. 4 Safety requirements and/or measures

4.1 Safety and reliability of control systems The design and implementation of any safety functions implemented in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical technology shall comply with Requirements of GB/T 16855.1-2018.
