JB/T 6108-1992 is the Chinese machinery industry standard on the structural safety of general purpose woodworking band saws. It sets out general requirements together with requirements for the safety guards, the steering or tracking mechanism and the device that tensions and holds the saw blade, and it adds provisions on chip extraction and on noise and vibration. Band saws of the general purpose type are what it applies to. Its classification entry in the Chinese system is J65, the woodworking machinery group. It quotes GB 699, GB 9239, GB 11357 and GB 12557. Issued on 16 May 1992, it has applied since 1 January 1993.
