JB/T 5722-1991 is a recommended machinery industry standard of China on the structural safety of woodworking band saws fitted with a log carriage. It states the general requirements first and then the particular ones: the guards and protective devices, the operating mechanism, the braking mechanism, the saw tensioning and blade clamping arrangements, the chip removal device, and the equipment carried on the carriage itself. The standard applies to carriage type woodworking band sawing machines. It quotes GB 12557 and GB 699, and it was drawn up with non-equivalent reference to JIS B6607-83. Issued on 4 October 1991, it has applied since 1 July 1992.
