Scope
GB/T 469-2023 is the English-translated version of 铅锭.
GB/T 469-2023 is the Chinese national standard for lead ingots produced by electrolytic refining.
It fixes the categories, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage, accompanying documents and the contents of the order form: two designations by chemical composition, large and small ingots with the small one rectangular and trapezoidal with a bundling groove and end ears, a surface free of slag, melt holes, granular oxides and inclusions, no flash burr larger than 10 mm, chemical analysis to GB/T 4103 and surface quality checked visually.
An inspection batch is of one designation and furnace number and may not exceed 150 t. Its foreword states that designation Pb99.996 was added and four others deleted.
It replaces GB/T 469-2013, was issued on 6 August 2023 and has applied since 1 March 2024.

Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents".
This document replaces GB/T 469-2013 "Lead ingots". Compared with GB/T 469-2013, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) CHANGE the scope, changing "This standard applies to lead ingots produced by electrolysis or pyrolysis refining" to "This document applies to lead ingots produced by electrolysis refining" (see Chapter 1; Chapter 1 of the 2013 edition);
b) ADD the Pb99.996 designation; DELETE the four designations Pb99.990, Pb99.985, Pb99.970, Pb99.940 (see Chapter 4; 3.1 of the 2013 edition);
c) CHANGE the content requirements of impurity elements Ag, Cu, Bi in the designation Pb99.994, from 0.0008%, 0.001%, 0.004% to 0.0007%, 0.0008%, 0.0025%, respectively (see Table 1; Table 1 of the 2013 edition);
d) DELETE the physical specifications of small ingots of 40 kg ± 2 kg (see 3.3.2 of the 2013 edition).
1 Scope
This document stipulates the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, accompanying documents, order form content of lead ingots.
This document applies to lead ingots, which are produced by electrolytic refining.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, for dated reference documents, only the version corresponding to the date applies to this document; for undated reference documents, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
There are no terms or definitions to be defined in this document.
4 Categories
Lead ingots are divided into 2 designations according to their chemical composition.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Chemical composition
5.1.1 The chemical composition of lead ingots shall comply with the requirements in Table 1.
5.1.2 When lead is used to produce an alloy, which has an element listed in Table 1 as an additive element, the content of this element does not need to be limited by the maximum value specified in Table 1; it can be agreed upon by the supplier and the buyer.
5.2 Physical specifications
5.2.1 Lead ingots are divided into large ingots and small ingots. The small ingot is rectangular and trapezoidal, with a bundling groove at the bottom and protruding ears at both ends.
5.3 Surface quality
5.3.1 There shall be no slag, molten holes, granular oxides, inclusions, external contamination on the surface of lead ingots.
5.3.2 The lead ingot shall not have cold insulation; it shall not have flash burrs larger than 10 mm (trimming is allowed).
5.4 Others
If the buyer has special requirements for the chemical composition, physical specifications, surface quality, etc. of lead ingots, they can be negotiated by the supplier and the buyer.
6 Test methods
6.1 The chemical composition analysis method of lead ingots shall be carried out, in accordance with the relevant provisions of GB/T 4103 (all parts).
6.3 The surface quality of lead ingots is inspected visually.
7 Inspection rules
7.1 Inspection and acceptance
7.1.1 Lead ingots shall be inspected by the supplier or a third-party quality supervision department, to ensure that the product quality complies with the provisions of this document; meanwhile the accompanying documents shall be filled in.
7.2 Group batching
7.2.1 Lead ingots shall be submitted for inspection in batches. Each batch shall be composed of products of the same designation and furnace number; the weight of each batch shall not exceed 150 t.
7.2.2 According to the requirements of the buyer, multiple production batches of the same designation are allowed to form an inspection batch. The batch size is as required by the buyer.
7.3 Inspection items
Each batch of lead ingots shall be inspected for chemical composition analysis, physical specifications, surface quality.
7.4 Sampling and specimen preparation
7.4.1 Production sampling
The specimens, which are used by the supplier for chemical composition analysis, can be taken from the liquid metal during casting or can be taken by other methods.
7.4.2 Product sampling and specimen preparation
7.4.2.1 Collection and preparation of chemical composition specimens of lead
ingots
7.5 Judgment of inspection results
7.5.1 The rounding of the impurity element test results and the representation and judgment of the rounded values shall be carried out, in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 8170.
7.5.2 If the chemical composition analysis results of lead ingots are inconsistent with the provisions of this document or the requirements of the order form, they will be deemed unqualified.
7.5.3 If the physical specifications and surface quality of the lead ingot are inconsistent with the provisions of this document or the requirements of the order form, the ingot will be deemed to be unqualified.
8 Marking, packaging, transportation, storage, accompanying documents
8.1 Marking
8.1.1 The trademark and batch number shall be cast or printed on each lead ingot.
8.2 Packaging
8.2.1 Small lead ingots shall be bundled and packed with packaging tapes of corresponding strength and not easy to rust. Large lead ingots are supplied as bare ingots.
8.2.2 If the buyer has special requirements for the packaging of lead ingots, they can be negotiated by the supplier and the buyer.
8.3 Transport and storage
8.4 Accompanying documents
Each batch of lead ingots shall be accompanied by accompanying documents stating.
9 Contents of order form
The purchaser can list the following contents in the order form for ordering the products listed in this document, according to its own needs. […]
