Scope
GB/T 4103.1-2012 is the English-translated version of 铅及铅合金化学分析方法 第1部分:锡量的测定.
GB/T 4103.1-2012 specifies the determination of the tin content of lead and lead alloys, and clause 1 states that it applies to the determination of the tin content in lead and in lead alloys.
The foreword records that GB/T 4103, Methods for chemical analysis of lead and lead alloys, is divided into sixteen parts, of which this is Part 1, and that compared with the 2000 edition pyrocatechol violet spectrophotometry was cancelled, hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry and a phenylfuoron spectrophotometry were added, and a sample preparation method was added to the third method for lead alloys with a tin mass fraction of 1% or more.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 6682, GB/T 12806, GB/T 12808, GB/T 12809 and GB/T 12810.
Clause 3, General, requires reagents of recognised analytical grade and distilled or deionised water or water of equivalent purity meeting GB/T 6682, instruments within their verification cycle and meeting the technical parameters required, and class A glassware to GB/T 12806, GB/T 12808 and GB/T 12809, used according to GB/T 12810.
Clause 4 is the first method, hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry: 4.1 states that it suits the measurement of tin in lead ingots, secondary lead ingots and the pure lead portion of electrolytic deposition lead anode plates, over a range of 0.0002% to 0.0050% mass fraction, and 4.2 describes the principle, in which the sample is dissolved in dilute nitric acid, the lead is separated as a lead sulfate precipitate in sulfuric acid medium, the tin is reduced by potassium borohydride to tin hydride, carried into a quartz furnace atomiser with argon and measured for fluorescence intensity on a tin atomic fluorescence spectrometer.
The draft breaks off in the reagent list of 4.3, so the second and third methods that the foreword mentions are not shown.
The part is under the centralized management of the National Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC243), and the page names one responsible drafting unit for the part as a whole and separate drafting units and main drafters for each of the three methods.
It replaces GB/T 4103.1-2000, and the foreword also lists GB/T 472.6-1984, GB/T 4103.1-1983 and GB/T 4103.2-1983 among the editions it replaces.

4 A method of hydride generation - atomic fluorescence spectrometry
4.1 Determination of Range
This method is suitable for lead ingots, secondary lead ingots and electrolytic deposition of lead anode plate (pure lead portion) of the tin content was measured for the range 0.0002% to 0.0050% (mass fraction).
4.2 Principle
After the sample is dissolved in dilute nitric acid, lead to form lead sulfate precipitation and separation of tin in sulfuric acid (199) medium, tin is reduced to potassium borohydride Tin hydride with argon gas into the quartz furnace atomizer, the fluorescence intensity was measured on a tin atomic fluorescence spectrometer.
