Scope
GB/T 4103.10-2012 is the English-translated version of 铅及铅合金化学分析方法 第10部分:银量的测定.
GB/T 4103.10-2012 is Part 10 of GB/T 4103, the sixteen-part series on methods for chemical analysis of lead and lead alloys, and it covers the determination of silver content.
Clause 1 states that the part specifies and applies to the determination of silver content in lead and lead alloys.
After the foreword, Scope and Normative references, a general clause requires reagents recognised as analytically pure, water complying with GB/T 6682, instruments within their verification period and class A glassware as specified in GB/T 12806, GB/T 12808 and GB/T 12809, used as set out in GB/T 12810.
The first method is flame atomic absorption spectrometry: its determination range clause gives 0.0003% to 0.50% silver as a mass fraction, and its principle is to dissolve the sample in nitric acid and, in a dilute nitric acid medium with tartaric acid, measure the absorbance of silver at a wavelength of 328.1 nm with an air-acetylene flame atomic absorption spectrometer.
The foreword adds that this edition introduced a fire assay determination of silver, with a range above 0.50% up to 2.00%, that the range of the flame atomic absorption method was adjusted and that precision provisions were added; the draft on the page then breaks off among the reagents of the first method, so the fire assay clauses and the rest of the part are not shown.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 6682, GB/T 12806, GB/T 12808, GB/T 12809 and GB/T 12810, and the committee named as being in charge is SAC/TC243. It replaces GB/T 4103.10-2000.
