Scope
GB/T 33760-2017 is the English-translated version of 基于项目的温室气体减排量评估技术规范 通用要求.
GB/T 33760-2017 sets the general requirements for assessing greenhouse gas emission reductions at project level in China. It gives the terms and definitions, the basic principles, and the requirements and methods of the assessment.
Clause 3 defines the greenhouse gas, which unless stated otherwise means carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, sulphur hexafluoride and nitrogen trifluoride, then the greenhouse gas source, greenhouse gas emissions as a mass over a stated period, the baseline scenario that stands for the project not being carried out, and the emission reduction measured against it.
It serves both for drafting project-level assessment specifications and as a reference for quantifying reductions, and it cites GB/T 32150. It was issued on 12 May 2017 and has applied since 1 December 2017.

3 Terms and definitions
GB/T 32150 Definitions and the following terms and definitions apply to this document. For ease of use, GB/T 32150 is listed below In some of the terms and definitions.
3.1 Greenhouse gas
The natural existence of the atmosphere and the human activities can be generated by the absorption and distribution by the Earth's surface, the atmosphere and the clouds produced, The gaseous composition of the radiation in the infrared spectrum.
Note: Unless otherwise stated, greenhouse gases in this standard include carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) Perfluorocarbons (PFCs), sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) and nitrogen trifluoride (NF3). [GB/T 32150-2015, definition 3.1]
3.2 Greenhouse gas source
A unit or process that emits greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
3.3 Greenhouse gas emissions
The total amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere during a given period of time (in mass units). [GB/T 32150-2015, definition 3.6]
3.4 Baseline scenario
Used to provide a reference scenario that may occur in scenarios where the project is not implemented.
3.5 Greenhouse gas emission reduction
The calculated amount of GHG emissions from projects calculated for a given period of time compared to emissions from baseline scenarios.
