Scope
GB 20815-2006 is the English-translated version of 视频安防监控数字录像设备.
GB 20815-2006 specifies the general technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, documentation requirements, and marking, packaging, transport and storage of digital video recording equipment (DVR) used in video surveillance systems for security and protection; DVRs in other fields may refer to it.
It defines terms such as video image quality, PSNR-based signal-to-noise ratio, definition, total resource and pre-recording before alarm, and classifies equipment into Class I basic, Class II professional and Class III integrated DVRs, each with mandatory and optional functions, and into image quality grades B and A (grade A: at least 704 × 576 pixels, 35 dB signal-to-noise ratio, 400 TVL monitoring and 300 TVL playback definition at 25 frames/s or more).
It sets the product designation AF-DVR, software and hardware design requirements, appearance and structure, and analogue video, analogue audio, alarm linkage and network interfaces, followed by requirements and tests for electromechanical performance and functions, inspection rules and documentation; Annexes A and B cover the subjective evaluation of DVR image quality and Annex C an objective feature-extraction method.
Clauses 4.2, 6.4, 7.1 to 7.4, 8.3, 8.5 to 8.13 and 8.16 are mandatory and the rest recommendatory. It is a first edition, issued on 19 December 2006 and in force since 1 January 2008.
