The emergency plan is the subject of NB/T 20442.13-2017, part 13 of the recommended Chinese energy industry guideline on the periodic safety review of nuclear power plants.

It states the objectives, scope, content, methods and processes of the periodic review of the emergency planning element, and applies to the examination of that element during a review.

Its provisions are based on pressurized water reactors, and other nuclear power plants can use them as a reference. It quotes the whole GB/T 17680 series on nuclear emergency planning, parts 1 to 12.

Its Chinese classification is F65 and its international class 27.120.99. Issued on 1 April 2017, it has applied since 1 October 2017.
