Foreword

This document is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020, Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.

This document replaces GB/T 8231-2007, Sorghum. Compared with GB/T 8231-2007, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

- the definitions of unsound kernel and impurity have been changed (see 3.2 and 3.3; 3.2 and 3.3 of the 2007 edition);

- the terms and definitions of mass of 1 000 grains under standard moisture and shell grain have been added (see 3.4 and 3.5);

- the classification has been changed (see Clause 4; Clause 4 of the 2007 edition);

- the quality requirements have been changed (see Clause 5; 5.1 of the 2007 edition);

- the hygiene requirements have been deleted (see 5.2 of the 2007 edition);

- the test methods have been changed (see Clause 6; Clause 6 of the 2007 edition);

- the inspection rules have been changed (see Clause 7; Clause 7 of the 2007 edition);

- the packaging requirements have been deleted (see 9.2 of the 2007 edition).
