Scope
GB/T 36700.1-2018 is the English-translated version of 化学品 水生环境危害分类指导 第1部分:导言.
GB/T 36700.1-2018 is the introductory part of the Chinese national guidance on classifying chemicals for hazards to the aquatic environment.
It outlines the framework of the whole eight-part series: the unified classification method, the interpretation of data on aquatic toxicity, degradation and bioaccumulation, the use of quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR) and the classification of metals and metal compounds, each developed in Parts 2 to 8.
It takes its terms from GB 30000.28 and defines aquatic environment, substance and mixture. It also refers to the sixth revised edition of the UN Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).
It serves those who classify chemicals for aquatic environmental hazards, was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

Foreword
GB/T 36700 "Chemical Aquatic Environmental Hazard Classification Guidance" is divided into the following eight parts.
--- Part 1. Introduction;
--- Part 2. Unified classification method;
---Part 3. Aquatic toxicity;
--- Part 4. Degradation;
--- Part 5. Bioconcentration;
--- Part 6. Quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR);
--- Part 7. Classification of metals and metal compounds;
--- Part 8. Guidance for the conversion/dissolution of metals and metal compounds in aqueous media.
This part is the first part of GB/T 36700.
This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 36700 specifies the unified classification method, data interpretation, aquatic toxicity, degradation, bioaccumulation, use of QSAR, and metals and their compounds in the classification guide for chemical aquatic environmental hazards.
This section applies to the guidance on the classification of chemical aquatic environmental hazards.
