Scope
GB/T 36700.3-2018 is the English-translated version of 化学品 水生环境危害分类指导 第3部分:水生毒性.
GB/T 36700.3-2018 is Part 3 of the Chinese national guidance on classifying chemicals for hazards to the aquatic environment, and deals with aquatic toxicity. It gives guidance on the aquatic toxicity data and test methods used in classification, on weight of evidence, on substances that are difficult to test and on how to judge data quality.
The methods it relies on include the Chinese tests for algal growth inhibition, Daphnia immobilisation and reproduction, fish acute and early life stage toxicity and Lemna growth inhibition, together with OECD guidance documents, US EPA test guidelines and the UN GHS.
It works alongside GB 30000.28 and the other parts of GB/T 36700, and is used by those who classify chemicals and assess their test data. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

Foreword
GB/T 36700 "Chemical Aquatic Environmental Hazard Classification Guidance" is divided into the following eight parts.
--- Part 1. Introduction;
--- Part 2. Unified classification method;
---Part 3. Aquatic toxicity;
--- Part 4. Degradation;
--- Part 5. Bioconcentration;
--- Part 6. Quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR);
--- Part 7. Classification of metals and metal compounds;
--- Part 8. Guidance for the conversion/dissolution of metals and metal compounds in aqueous media.
This part is the third part of GB/T 36700.
This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 36700 specifies the aquatic toxicity and test methods, evidence weights, and difficulties involved in the classification of chemical aquatic environmental hazards. Guidance on difficult material and data quality interpretation.
This section applies to the guidance on aquatic toxicity in the classification of chemical aquatic environmental hazards.
