Scope
GB/T 36700.4-2018 is the English-translated version of 化学品 水生环境危害分类指导 第4部分:降解.
GB/T 36700.4-2018 is Part 4, on degradation, of the Chinese national guidance on classifying chemicals for hazards to the aquatic environment. It gives an overview of how degradation enters that classification, explains how degradability data should be interpreted, and discusses the general problems of interpretation and the ways of judging them.
The data come from the test methods it cites, including tests of rapid biodegradability by DOC reduction, closed bottle, carbon dioxide production and respirometry, tests of inherent biodegradability, pH-dependent hydrolysis, simulated aerobic sewage treatment and biodegradability in seawater.
Its terms are taken from GB 30000.28, the part of the chemical classification and labelling series on harm to the aquatic environment. The series has eight parts, from the introduction to metals and metal compounds. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.
