Scope
GB/T 36700.5-2018 is the English-translated version of 化学品 水生环境危害分类指导 第5部分:生物富集.
GB/T 36700.5-2018 is Part 5 of the Chinese guidance on classifying chemicals for hazards to the aquatic environment, and deals with bioconcentration.
It explains how bioconcentration enters the classification, how to interpret the bioconcentration factor (BCF) and the n-octanol/water partition coefficient (Kow), what to watch for with particular categories of chemicals, and what to do when BCF or Kow data are missing or contradictory.
It builds on the classification rules of GB 30000.28 and relies on fish bioconcentration tests such as GB/T 21800 and GB/T 21858, on the partition coefficient methods of GB/T 21852 and GB/T 21853, and on OECD, ASTM and US EPA test guidance.
It is meant for those who classify chemicals and assess their test data. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

Foreword
GB/T 36700 "Chemical Aquatic Environmental Hazard Classification Guidance" is divided into the following eight parts.
--- Part 1. Introduction;
--- Part 2. Unified classification method;
---Part 3. Aquatic toxicity;
--- Part 4. Degradation;
--- Part 5. Bioconcentration;
--- Part 6. Quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR);
--- Part 7. Classification of metals and metal compounds;
--- Part 8. Guidance for the conversion/dissolution of metals and metal compounds in aqueous media.
This part is the fifth part of GB/T 36700.
This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 36700 specifies an overview of the classification of chemical aquatic environmental hazards involving biological enrichment, data interpretation, special notes Guidance on the lack of BCF and Kow values for chemical categories and contradictory data and data.
This section applies to the guidance of biological enrichment of chemical aquatic environmental hazards.
