Scope
GB/T 25211-2023 is the English-translated version of 兰炭产品分类及质量要求.
GB/T 25211-2023 sets the quality grades and quality requirements for semi-coke and covers its test methods, quality inspection and acceptance, transportation and storage; it applies to all types of semi-coke product.
It defines semi-coke as a low-volatility solid carbon product obtained by pyrolysing high-volatile bituminous coal of no or weak cohesiveness at medium and low temperature, and it separates mixed semi-coke, which is not crushed or screened, from sized semi-coke, graded large, medium or small by particle size.
Total moisture, proximate analysis, calorific value, total sulfur, phosphorus, ash fusibility, arsenic, chlorine, mercury, grindability and specific resistance are determined by the coal methods it cites; sampling and sample preparation follow GB/T 474, GB/T 475, GB/T 19494.1 and GB/T 19494.2.
It replaces GB/T 25211-2010 and GB/T 25212-2010, was issued on 7 September 2023 and has applied since 1 April 2024.

1 Scope
This document specifies the quality grades, quality requirements, test methods, quality inspection and acceptance, transportation and storage of semi-coke products.
This document applies to all types of semi-coal products.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 Semi-coke
A low-volatility solid carbon product obtained by pyrolyzing high-volatile bituminous coal with no or weak cohesiveness under medium and low temperature conditions.
3.2 Mixed semi-coke
Semi-coke products with a particle size of "less than 50 mm" or "less than 80 mm" that have not been crushed and screened.
3.3 Sized semi-coke
Semi-coke products with particle size greater than or equal to 6 mm.
3.4 Large-size semi-coke
Semi-coke products with particle size greater than 25 mm.
3.5 Medium-size semi-coke
Semi-coke products with particle size greater than 13 mm and less than 25 mm. […]
