GB 8958-2006 is the English-translated version of 缺氧危险作业安全规程.
GB 8958-2006 is the mandatory Chinese national standard governing safe working under the hazardous condition of oxygen deficiency. It defines what counts as an oxygen-deficient hazardous operation and states the safety protection requirements that go with it.
The standard applies to oxygen-deficient hazardous workplaces and to the personal protection of the people working in them. It quotes GB 2894, GB 5725, GB 6095, GB 6220 and GB/T 12301.
Its place in the catalogue is the occupational safety group, Chinese classification C71 and international class 13.100. The standard replaces GB 8958-1988. Issued on 22 June 2006, it has applied since 1 December 2006.
