Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1:1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting: This document replaces GB 8109-2005 "Trolley-type Fire Extinguisher": Compared with GB 8109-2005, except for structural adjustments and editorial changes In addition, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The scope of application of the standard has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the:2005 edition);

b) Changed the model compilation method (see 4:2, 5:4 of the:2005 edition);

c) The operating temperature range has been changed (see 5:1, 6:1 of the:2005 edition);

d) The filling amount has been changed (see 5:2:1, 5:3:3 of the:2005 version);

e) Delete the immersion method requirements and test methods (6:5:3 and 7:4:3 of the:2005 edition);

f) The requirements and test methods for external corrosion resistance have been changed (see 5:6:1 and 7:5:1, 6:7:1 and 7:6:1 of the:2005 edition);

g) The performance requirements and test methods for extinguishing Class A fires have been changed (see 5:7:1 and 7:6:1, 6:9:1 and 7:2 of the:2005 edition);

h) The performance requirements and test methods for extinguishing Class B fires have been changed (see 5:7:2 and 7:6:2, 6:9:2 and 7:3 of the:2005 edition);

i) Added performance requirements and test methods for extinguishing Class D fires (see 5:7:4 and 7:6:3);

j) Added performance requirements and test methods for extinguishing Class F fires (see 5:7:5 and 7:6:3);

k) Added requirements for fire extinguisher manufacturing units to keep product qualification certificates and quality inspection certificates (see 6:1:1:1);

l) Added manufacturing qualification requirements for fire extinguisher bottle manufacturing units (see 6:1:1:2);

m) Added requirements for trolley-type carbon dioxide fire extinguisher valves (see 6:2:5);

1 Scope

GB 8109-2023 is the Chinese national standard on wheeled fire extinguishers, in the field of environment and health protection, safety. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 28 December 2023 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 January 2025. Classification: ICS 13.220.20, CCS C84.
