GB/T 4968-2008 — This standard is based on the type of fuel and combustion characteristics of the fire is defined as six different categories.

This standard applies to the choice of fire-fighting and fire protection, fire extinguishers, etc. Naming and Definition 2 fire classification the following names are to divide the different nature of the fire, and so simplify oral and written statements.

Class A fires. solid material fire. Such materials usually have organic nature, generally when burned to produce hot embers. Class B fires. liquid or solid material fire meltable.

Class C fires. gas fire. Class D fires. metal fire. Class E fire. live fire. Charged objects burning fire. Class F fires. cooking (such as animal fats) within the cooking appliance fires.
