4 Safety requirements and measures

Foreword

All technical contents of this standard are mandatory.

This standard is a revision of GB 18320-2001. Compared with GB 18320-2001, the main changes are as follows:

- the title of the standard has been changed from "Agricultural transport vehicles - Safety requirements" to "Tri-wheel vehicles and low-speed goods vehicles - Safety requirements";

- "three-wheel agricultural transport vehicle" has been renamed "tri-wheel vehicle", and "four-wheel agricultural transport vehicle" has been renamed "low-speed goods vehicle";

- the definitions have been removed;

- the maximum depth of the seat has been adjusted;

- the indicator for the maximum free rotation of the steering wheel has been adjusted;

- the requirements for the installation position of external lighting and signalling devices have been clarified;

- the requirements for side protection and rear underrun protection have been modified;

- the requirements for determining the emergency braking performance of low-speed goods vehicles in the unladen and laden conditions have been clarified;

- speed requirements for tri-wheel vehicles and low-speed goods vehicles have been added;

- the requirements for determining the exhaust pollutant emission limits of diesel engines have been clarified;

- the content to be written in the instructions for use has been clarified.

From the date of its implementation, this standard replaces GB 18320-2001.

This standard was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation.

This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Agricultural Transport Vehicles.
