Foreword

All technical contents of this standard are mandatory.

This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB 18267-2000, Cashmere.

Compared with GB 18267-2000, the main technical changes of this standard are as follows:

- definitions of foreign matter and foreign matter content have been added (see 3.9 and 3.14);

- the technical conditions for the types and grades of raw cashmere have been modified (see Table 2; Table 2 of the 2000 edition);

- the cashmere content test for raw cashmere has been deleted (6.3.7 of the 2000 edition);

- the technical conditions and test methods for "wheel-passed cashmere" in the former Part Three have been deleted (Clauses 9 and 10 of the 2000 edition);

- the grading indicators for pure cashmere content of scoured cashmere have been modified (see Table 4; Table 6 of the 2000 edition);

- an indicator for the coefficient of variation of length of dehaired cashmere and its calculation method have been added (see 7.1, Table 6, 6.2.3.5.7);

- the breaking strength indicator for dehaired cashmere has been modified (see Table 6), and its test method has been changed from the single fibre method to the fibre bundle method (see 7.2.3.5; 8.3.6 of the 2000 edition);

- provisions on re-inspection have been added (see 8.6).

This standard was proposed by and is under the jurisdiction of the China Fibre Inspection Bureau.
