Scope

GB 12475-2006 is the English-translated version of 农药贮运、销售和使用的防毒规程.

GB 12475-2006 specifies the anti-poisoning requirements for the loading and unloading, transport, storage, sale and use of pesticides, and applies to the workplaces where pesticides are stored, transported, sold and used and to the people who work in them; the whole text is mandatory.

It classifies pesticides into five toxicity grades by oral and dermal LD50 and inhalation LC50 (grade Ia extremely toxic, oral LD50 <= 5 mg/kg, to grade IV slightly toxic, above 5 000 mg/kg) and sets requirements for personnel, loading and unloading, vehicles and transport, dedicated warehouses, stacking and warehouse management, and sale, including separate locked storage for highly and extremely toxic pesticides and segregation of flammable products with a closed-cup flash point below 61 °C. For use it covers preparation, application in the field, in greenhouses, by aircraft and by fumigation (warehouse temperature below 35 °C, working time for highly toxic products not over 6 h a day and 5 consecutive days), re-entry intervals and application records, followed by rules for respiratory and skin protective equipment, a personal safety card and emergency handling of spills, fires and poisoning.

It replaces GB 12475-1990: the text was redrafted to GB/T 1.1 with added terms and definitions, packaging and waste disposal were removed from the scope, and the personal safety card and emergency handling of accidents were added; Annex A is normative.

It was issued on 22 June 2006 and has been in force since 1 December 2006. Classification: ICS 13.300, CCS C65. The document runs to 10 pages, delivered complete in English translation.
