Scope
GB 16473-1996 is the English-translated version of 黄磷包装.
GB 16473-1996 specifies the requirements, storage, transportation and test methods for the packing of industrial yellow phosphorus, and applies to its production, use, distribution and supervision and inspection.
Yellow phosphorus is packed in packing group I packagings to GB 12463: 140 L steel drums holding 200 ± 0.2 kg net under a water layer at least 50 mm deep, filled by one of two described methods using hot water at 50 °C to 60 °C, sealed after solidification and marked with product, hazard and manufacturer information.
Normative Annex A sets out the drum itself - dimensions (inner diameter 500 mm, outer height 750 mm, sheet thickness >= 1.2 mm), steel and closure materials, construction with triple round seams and two rolling hoops, appearance, coatings, airtightness at 0.05 MPa, hydraulic pressure at 0.25 MPa, drop height >= 2.7 m and stacking mass >= 2 400 kg - together with the classification of quality characteristics, factory and type inspection rules and test methods referring to GB 325 and GB 4956.
