Scope

GB/T 9755-2024 is the English-translated version of 合成树脂乳液墙面涂料.

GB/T 9755 is the Chinese product standard for synthetic resin emulsion wall coatings: exterior emulsion paint. It is one of the highest-volume coatings standards in the country, and the one a specification for a building facade normally cites. The standard classifies the products, sets the requirements, describes the test methods, and gives the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage. The requirements are the ones that decide how a facade looks after five years: the container state, the low temperature stability, the drying time, the contrast ratio and the colour, the alkali resistance, the water resistance, the scrub resistance, the resistance to staining and to chalking, the artificial weathering resistance and, increasingly, the limits on volatile organic compounds and on harmful substances. The 2024 edition, effective 1 June 2025, replaces GB/T 9755-2014. For a paint maker, a specifier or a developer buying facade coatings in China, this is the acceptance text.

Foreword

This document was issued on 28 November 2024 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of the PRC and takes effect on 1 June 2025.

It is a GB/T standard: recommended rather than compulsory, but it is the text a Chinese reviewer applies.

The document runs to 20 pages in translation. The identification, the dates, the table of contents and the clauses reproduced on this page are taken from the standard itself.

It replaces GB/T 9755-2014, which is superseded.

1 Scope

This document specifies the product classification and grading, requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as marking, packaging and storage of the synthetic resin emulsion based wall coatings.

This document is applicable to the wall coatings, which are made from a mixture of pigments, extender pigment and various additives with the synthetic resin emulsion as base material by emulsion polymerization mode and formed into a thin coating layer with smooth surface after application.
