HG/T 3951-2007 is the Chinese chemical industry standard for water-based colorants used in architectural coatings. It classifies these colorants and sets their requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the rules for marking, packaging and storage. It applies to water-based pastes prepared from organic and inorganic pigments together with wetting and dispersing agents and other additives, products intended mainly for interior and exterior wall paints; waterborne colorants for other coatings may follow it by reference. Placed in class G54 and in the international group 87.060.10, it calls up GB/T 1766-1995, GB/T 1864-1989, GB/T 6750, GB/T 9269-1988, GB/T 9274-1988, GB/T 9750-1998, GB/T 9755-2001, GB 18582 and HJ/T 201-2005. Issued on 20 July 2007, it has applied since 1 January 2008.
