Scope
GB/T 1910-2015 is the English-translated version of 新闻纸.
This standard sets the product classification and the requirements for newsprint, together with its test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation and storage.
Clause 1 applies it to paper for high-speed rotary printing and lithographic printing of newspapers. Clause 3, Product Categories, divides newsprint by product quality into superior products and quality products, and makes a second split into two kinds whose names the draft garbles.
Clause 4, Requirements, refers the technical indicators of newsprint to Table 1 or to the contract; the table opens with the basis weight values 45.0, 47.0, 48.0, 49.0 and 51.0 g/m2 and a basis weight deviation of plus or minus 5.0%, and the draft breaks off inside it.
The foreword records that the categories were modified and the first-class product grade cancelled, that the 42.0 g/m2 basis weight was deleted, that the brightness index and the roll width deviation requirement were modified and the specifications of the quality product raised, and that the sampling plan table was adjusted; it also warns that some of the content of the document may involve patents, for the identification of which the issuing body takes no responsibility.

The standard was proposed by the China National Light Industry Council and is in the charge of the National Standardization Technical Committee for paper, SAC/TC141.
It replaces GB/T 1910-2006, the foreword also listing GB 1910-1989 and GB/T 1910-1999 among the editions previously issued; it was issued on December 31, 2015 and has applied since July 1, 2016.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.
This standard replaces GB/T 1910-2006 "Newsprint", compared with the GB/T 1910-2006, the main changes are as follows.
--- Categories modified, canceled the first-class product classification;
--- Deleted 42.0g/m2 quantitative modifying the brightness index and the roll width deviation requirement and enhance the quality product specifications;
--- Will roll into a predetermined roll joint requirements;
--- Adjust the sampling plan table.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the newsprint product classifications, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation and storage.
This standard applies to high-speed rotary printing, lithography newspapers paper.
