Scope
GB/T 6424-2021 is the English-translated version of 平板型太阳能集热器.
GB/T 6424-2021 is the Chinese product standard for flat plate solar collectors that heat a liquid transfer medium with solar radiation. It covers symbols and units, classification by structure type and absorber material, recommended dimensions and product marking, including the maximum operating temperature.
The technical requirements and test methods deal with the absorber coating, cover transmittance, insulation, daylighting area, mechanical load, stagnation temperature, exposure to rain and thermal performance, with rated efficiency and rated power defined at an irradiance of 1000 W/m² and a 50 °C temperature difference.
It also sets inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage, and the format of the inspection report. Manufacturers and test centres use it. It replaces GB/T 6424-2007, was issued on 31 December 2021 and has applied since 1 July 2022.

3.1 Maximum operating temperature
The maximum temperature allowed by the collector or the collector system in normal operation as indicated by the manufacturer.
3.2 Rated efficiency
When the total irradiance on the lighting surface of the collector is 1000W/m², and the temperature difference between the average temperature of the collector and the ambient air temperature is 50°C, the efficiency value of the solar collector is calculated according to the instantaneous efficiency equation of the collector based on the lighting area.
3.3 Rated power
When the total irradiance on the lighting surface of the collector is 1000W/m², and the temperature difference between the average temperature of the collector and the ambient air temperature is 50°C The power of the collector is equal to the product of the rated efficiency, the lighting area and the three values of 1000W/m².
4 Symbols and units
The symbols and units used in this document are in accordance with Table A.1 of Appendix A.
