GB/T 42091-2022 is the English-translated version of 大型锻钢件用真空钢锭的冶炼与铸锭规范.
GB/T 42091-2022 is the Chinese national specification for melting and casting the vacuum-treated steel ingots from which large forgings are made.
It covers the raw materials, the equipment and instrument requirements, the personnel requirements, safety and environmental protection, the smelting and ingot casting process, and quality control, inspection and records, with tables of recommended vacuum pump performance parameters and of the refining process.
Clause 1 applies it to the smelting and ingot casting of vacuum steel ingots for large steel forgings of more than 50 tonnes.
Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 4223 and GB/T 39733 for the charge, ferroalloy standards for ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, ferrochrome, ferromolybdenum, ferrovanadium and ferronickel, GB/T 3863, GB/T 3864 and GB/T 4842 for the gases, and AQ 2001 for steelmaking safety. Issued on 30 December 2022, it has applied since the same date.

1 Scope
This document specifies the raw materials, equipment and instrument requirements, personnel requirements, and safety environment for the smelting and casting of vacuum steel ingots for large steel forgings.
Guarantee requirements, smelting and ingot casting process, quality control, inspection and records.
This document is applicable to the smelting and ingot casting of vacuum steel ingots (hereinafter referred to as "steel ingots") for large steel forgings over 50 tons.
