Scope

GB/T 3795-2014 is the English-translated version of 锰铁.

China's national standard for ferromanganese. It specifies the product classification, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the packaging, storage, transport and marking. Ferromanganese is the alloy through which manganese enters steel, and manganese is the one alloying element that essentially all steel contains. It is there for two reasons that are usually forgotten because they are so basic. It deoxidises - it takes oxygen out of the liquid steel that would otherwise form blowholes - and it combines with sulfur, which would otherwise form iron sulfide films at the grain boundaries and make the steel crack when hot rolled. Beyond that it strengthens and improves hardenability cheaply. The grades are distinguished mostly by carbon content, since a low carbon steel cannot be alloyed with a high carbon ferroalloy, and the low carbon grades cost considerably more to make.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules. This standard replaces GB/T 3795-2006 "ferromanganese." This standard compared with GB/T 3795-2006, mainly on the technical content of the following changes.

--- Micro-carbon ferromanganese furnace increases the categories;

--- Reduce the major impurity element phosphorus, silicon content, improve the standard level;

--- The product size range has been adjusted. The standard proposed by China Iron and Steel Association. This standard by the national pig iron and ferroalloy Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC318) centralized. This standard was drafted. Shanxi Jiaocheng Yiwang ferroalloy limited liability company, Shanxi Eastern Resources Development Co., Ltd., Metallurgical Industry Information Standards Research Institute. The main drafters of this standard. Le Song Jin, Kang Guozhu, WANG Cheng-guo, Shuli. This standard replaces the standards previously issued as follows:

--- GB 3795-1983, GB 3795-1987, GB/T 3795-1996, GB/T 3795-2006. Ferromanganese

1 Scope

This standard specifies the product classifications, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and packaging, storage and transportation, marking and certification of ferromanganese. This standard applies to steelmaking, casting deoxidizer and alloying elements additives ferromanganese.
