Scope
GB/T 42537-2023 is the English-translated version of 特大型锻钢件的热处理规范.
This document specifies the technical requirements and the process methods for the heat treatment of extra-large steel forgings made from steel ingots of 250 tonnes and above.
The document applies to the heat treatment of the extra-large forgings used in heavy equipment for the energy, metallurgical, petrochemical and similar industries, typically rotor steels of the Ni2, Ni3 and Ni4 series, back-up roll steels of the Cr2, Cr3 and Cr4 series, 12Cr2Mo1 and 12Cr2Mo1V vessel steels and 20MnNiMo nuclear power steel; the chemical compositions of the materials commonly used are given in Annex A. The heat treatment of other extra-large forgings may follow this document as a reference.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 7232, GB/T 13324 and GB/T 37559-2019 apply to this document.
3.1 Super-scale steel forgings
A single piece is a steel free forging forged from a steel ingot of more than 250t.
4 Basic requirements
4.1 The manufacturer should have a complete quality assurance system, and should have the performance of producing forgings of similar materials and sizes or have passed the review. Experience like forging.
4.2 Process plan should be evaluated before heat treatment. The process plan includes the process method, hoisting method, process equipment used and necessary Assistive devices, necessary technical measures, safety measures and process parameters, etc. The process plan should generally adopt mature process parameters, allowing The actual situation is slightly adjusted.
4.3 In order to ensure the controllability of the quality of forgings, the manufacturer should have the ability to smelt, forge and heat treat extra-large steel forgings.
