Scope
GB/T 41786-2022 is the English-translated version of 公共安全 生物特征识别 术语.
GB/T 41786-2022 defines the terms commonly used in biometric recognition for public security work, and may be used for reference in other fields.
The vocabulary is arranged in thirteen groups: general biometric terms, then terms specific to face, fingerprint, palmprint, finger vein, palm vein, iris, voiceprint, handwriting and gait recognition, followed by other biometric terms, multi-biometric terms and terms for the security of biometric applications.
The general group opens with the biological sample, the collection of that sample with a collection device, the biometric feature, the modality, feature extraction and feature comparison, with notes fixing the short forms sample, feature and comparison.
In this document biology refers only to the human body. It has no normative references. It was issued on 14 October 2022 and has applied since 1 May 2023.
