Scope

GB/T 38590-2020 is the English-translated version of 森林资源连续清查技术规程.

GB/T 38590-2020 lays down the general principles, the contents, the methods, the quality inspection, the analysis and evaluation and the results of the continuous inventory of forest resources.

Clause 1 states that it applies to the continuous inventory of forest resources carried out nationwide, and writes no exclusion.

The contents list gives clause 4, General, with the purpose of the inventory, the inventory task, the overall inventory, the inventory cycle and the accuracy requirements; clause 5, Inventory content, covering site and soil, utilization and coverage, stand characteristics, forest structure, forest health, forest productivity, forest management, forest ecological function and other content; clause 6, Inventory method, from the basic method and the preparation through the arrangement and determination of fixed plots and the survey of plot factors, wood-like factors and other factors to remote sensing interpretation; clause 7, Quality inspection; clause 8, Analysis and evaluation; and clause 9, Inventory results, divided into provincial and national results.

Five normative appendices follow, on the technical requirements for the resettlement of fixed plots and fixed samples, the survey records of fixed plots, the technical requirements for the main investigation factors, forest quality and ecological function evaluation, and the qualification requirements for sample survey factors.

Clause 3 defines the continuous inventory of forest resources and the fixed plot, the latter as a plot of a certain shape and size, arranged and numbered according to a sampling plan and given permanent signs for periodic review; the draft breaks off just after this definition.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 15781-2015, GB/T 15968, GB/T 17296 and GB/T 21010, a series of LY/T documents on forest ecosystem service function evaluation, woodland classification, satellite remote sensing images, data processing statistics and age class division, and two administrative documents, on shrubs and woodlands specially stipulated by the State and on the definition of national public welfare forest zoning.

The foreword states that the standard is proposed by the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau and is under the jurisdiction of the National Forest Resources Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC370). It was issued on 2020-03-06 and has applied since 2020-10-01.

1 Scope

This standard stipulates the general principles, contents, methods, quality inspection, analysis and evaluation, and results of continuous inventory of forest resources.

This standard applies to the continuous inventory of forest resources carried out nationwide.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Continuous inventory of forest resources

For the purpose of macroscopically grasping the current status and dynamic changes of forest resources and objectively reflecting the quantity, quality, structure and function of forests, Administered areas, municipalities directly under the Central Government, hereinafter referred to as provinces) or key state-owned forest area forest management bureaus, with fixed sample plots as the main resource for periodic review of forest resources Source survey method. Referred to as a type of investigation.

3.2 Fixed plot (permanent plot)

Plots with a certain shape and size, arranged and numbered according to a certain sampling plan, and set up permanent signs for periodic review.
