Technical Regulations for Forest Management to Increase Sediment

1 Scope

This document establishes the technical procedures for forest management to increase carbon sequestration, and stipulates the operation design, replanting and reseeding, tending and felling, harvesting, It defines the technical requirements for felling and renewal, tree species adjustment, auxiliary management, monitoring and evaluation, and describes the retrospective verification method for archive management.

This document is applicable to the restoration and enhancement of forests with the goal of improving forest quality and establishing a healthy, stable, high-quality and efficient forest ecosystem.

Forest management activities carried out to enhance the forest carbon sequestration function.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 forest management

A series of protection and cultivation throughout the entire forest growth cycle to sustainably obtain forest ecological products and forest products such as timber Forest activities.

Note. This includes replanting and reseeding, tending and felling, pre-felling regeneration, felling regeneration, tree species adjustment and other auxiliary management measures.

3.1.1

In stands with low canopy density or where target species are lacking, additional planting of target species should be carried out in gaps, windows, and clearings.

Or sowing, adjusting tree species structure and stand density, and improving stand productivity and ecological functions.

3.1.2 Intermediate cutting

According to the forest stand development, forest competition and natural thinning laws and forest cultivation goals, some trees should be cut down in a timely and appropriate manner to adjust the tree species composition.
