Scope

GB/T 35611-2024 is the English-translated version of 绿色产品评价 纺织产品.

GB/T 35611-2024 is the Chinese green product assessment standard for textiles, the document behind the green product label on Chinese textile goods. Its approach is life-cycle rather than single-issue: a textile is assessed on resource attributes, the fibre content and the water and energy consumed in producing it, on energy attributes, on environmental attributes, the chemicals used in pretreatment, dyeing and finishing, the wastewater and the emissions, and on quality attributes, the performance and durability of the product itself, since a garment that fails early is not green whatever its dyehouse did. The standard sets the assessment indicator system with the basic requirements a product must meet before it can be assessed at all, the evaluation indicators with their limits and their test or verification methods, and the evaluation method and rules by which a product is judged to qualify. China is the largest textile producer in the world and this label is increasingly asked for by buyers outside it. It takes effect on 1 October 2026.
