1 Scope

GB/T 22396-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering the vocabulary of tapes and labels - the carrier, adhesive and release liner, tack, peel and shear, the converting operations, and the defects and failure modes of a product that has to stick on demand and let go when asked. At 28,000 words it replaces GB/T 22396-2008. It was issued on 28 January 2026 and has been in force since 1 August 2026, replacing GB/T 22396-2008. The document is under the responsibility of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
